Once you remove the outer metallic coating from a hook point – by sharpening it or by removing the protective wax that we use on the Kamakura range – it can quickly become tarnished or begin to corrode as it oxidises or is exposed to the chemicals which occur in water, and this will take that ultra-sharp edge away.
